Overview

The Cometa Copper Project has a significant landholding with exploration and mining licences covering approximately 56km2. The project is located approximately 40km to the southeast of Vallenar and immediately west of the Orito Mining District.

High-Priority Targets

The project area hosts several prominent alteration and associated mineralisation zones. Previous surface sampling and geological mapping results have outlined several prospects, which offer potential for IOCG style mineralisation.

Exploration

1,330km-line-kilometers of airborne magnetic and radiometric data has been collected at Cometa and has identified multiple high-quality copper targets across a range of geological structures. Field campaigns have been completed to follow up key areas of interest and verify targets identified from satellite alteration mapping and airborne magnetics.

Two field rock-chip campaigns have been completed, which confirmed extensive, widespread high-grade surface copper mineralisation including a peak assay of 4.42% copper.

Planned Activities

Rock-chip sampling is currently in progress to delineate key areas of interest, which will then be followed up with drill testing of these targets. The more prospective targets will be drilled to resource definition and studies conducted to characterise potential extraction.
